community development
The South Burnett Community Development Program (SBCDP) is
co-located with other programs at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy.

Louise Judge

The program works with the community to identify needs and
address issues of concern and then work towards finding solutions.

Examples include:

  • Working in partnership with other services in the South Burnett to address the issue of housing needs
  • Developing a peer support network for young mothers aged 16 to 26 yrs.
  • In November 2003, SBCDP released a 38-page "South Burnett Community Vision 2003" report after holding forums in Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango, Wondai and Yarraman. The Community Visioning Process was initiated by the South Burnett Community Network in September 2002 in order to better understand what the communities of the South Burnett want for the future.
